When Are Taxes Due? Tax Day & Federal Tax Deadlines 2020-2021

Tax Day is April 15th, 2021. There is currently no government tax extension.

When is Tax Day?

Tax day is April 15, 2021. This is the deadline to file your federal income tax return.

Please note: In 2020, tax day was July 5th, 2020. It was originally April 15, but extended by the government due to the coronavirus outbreak.

When are taxes due if you get an extension?

If you request a tax extension by April 15th, your tax return will be due by Oct. 15th, 2021. The extension applies only to the time to file your tax return. If you owe taxes, the government expects you to make tax payments by April 15th, 2021.
